MANTRA to Announce Sybil Slaying Season Ahead of Upcoming $OM Airdrop

Share:

MANTRA, a layer 1 blockchain purpose-built for tokenized real-world assets (RWAs), today announces the start of the ‘Sybil Slaying Season’ ahead of its upcoming 50 Million $OM Token airdrop.

This two part initiative has been designed to reward genuine members of the MANTRA community and ensure the continued durability and sustainability of the ecosystem.

A key challenge in achieving a healthy airdrop, is the detection of sybil activities and attacks, which involve the creation of multiple fake accounts that unfairly gain a larger share of tokens.

Ahead of the upcoming $OM airdrop, Sybil Slaying Season will involve two key phases; self reporting, which will give the self-reporter 18% of their intended token allocation, and a bounty program, with an allocation of 10%. A failure to report and identify as a Sybil will result in a 100% forfeiture.

Tokens earned during  Sybil Slaying Season will be subject to the same vesting schedule as the Gendrop itself.

What is Sybil Activity?

Sybil activity refers to behavior where a single entity uses multiple addresses to gain unfair advantages, such as:

• Mass creation of addresses—for example, tens, hundreds, or even thousands of addresses controlled by one entity to participate in farming activities.
• Use of sybil farming applications—popular tools or software specifically designed to exploit farming opportunities
• Patterned behavior—If you suspect that you are participating in sybil activity, it's very likely you are.

Additional signs that could indicate sybil activity:

• Automated address creation—using scripts or bots to create multiple wallet addresses quickly.
• Excessive address clustering—having many addresses with similar transaction patterns or activities.
• Overlapping activities—a high concentration of activities (like farming or airdrop participation) across many addresses, all linked to a single entity.

A thorough breakdown of MANTRA’s Sybil Slaying Season initiative with key dates, is detailed below.

Part 1: Self Reporting

All sybil farmers have the opportunity to self-report until 24 February 08:00 UTC 2025 in return for 18% of their intended allocation. No questions will be asked.

How to Self-report

1. Visit this Google form
2. Indicate that you are a self reporter
3. Upload list of wallets into the form
4. The report will be complete

Soon after the end of the 11 - day period (13 February 08:00 UTC - 24 February 08:00 UTC 2025), a public release of all identified sybil addresses will be shared.

Verified sybils who have not reported, will receive zero allocation.

Part 2: Bounty Program

From 13 February 08:00 UTC - 24 February 08:00 UTC 2025,  all users are eligible to submit detailed reports of sybil activity. A successful report will  result in the verified sybil address(es) receiving no $OM, with the bounty hunter receiving 10% of the forfeited allocation from the successfully reported addresses.

Eligibility Criteria

• Reports must include a minimum of 20 linked suspicious addresses
• Reports must include a clear methodology for identifying suspicious addresses. This methodology can include, but is not limited to:

1. Transaction patterns: For example, repeated transactions of the same size or at the same time.
2. Wallet creation behavior: For instance, large numbers of wallets created within a short time frame.
3. Social media or public data: Correlating wallet addresses with known bots or suspicious accounts on social platforms.
4. Common ownership: Identifying patterns of addresses linked through shared ownership or activity in smart contracts.
5. No overlap with pre recorded wallet submissions

Submission Process

• Visit this Google form
• Indicate you are an informant
• Upload your list of wallets into the form
• Clear methodology must be provided on how the addresses have been identified
• After rigorous review MANTRA will verify your report

Important Note:

If a community member reports a sybil farmer BEFORE they self-report themselves, the Sybil Farmer will lose their allocation and the community member will be awarded 10%.

Example:

Alice farms rewards using multiple fake accounts.
Bob
detects the Sybil farming and reports Alice before Alice self-reports.
The team verifies the report and confirms the Sybil farming activity.
Alice
loses her entire allocation.
Bob
receives 10% of Alice’s forfeited allocation as a reward.

Ineligibility Criteria

• Reports with high redundancy, insufficient data, or invalid MANTRA Chain transactions.

Final Word

• MANTRA Chain’s discretion on eligibility and bounty awards.

The Sybil Slaying Season initiative, ahead of the upcoming $OM airdrop, will ensure those who’ve contributed to MANTRA’s growth to date and supported our work in bringing the world’s financial ecosystem onchain -  particularly our community and builders - are adequately rewarded. As well as ensure the sustainable and durable growth of our ecosystem.
